About the EDC JRD
The Eastern Delaware County Joint Recreation District (EDCJRD) was created pursuant to the Ohio Revised Code (ORC) for the purpose of acquiring land for the construction, operation and maintenance of parks, playgrounds, sports fields, pools, gymnasiums, community centers and other facilities for governmental, civic, educational or recreational activities.
The three founding members of the EDCJRD were the Big Walnut School District and the Villages of Galena and Sunbury.

The EDCJRD is comprised of representatives from the Big Walnut School District, the Village of Galena, the Village of Sunbury, Berkshire Township, Genoa Township, Harlem Township, Kingston Township, Porter Township and Trenton Township.
